Conservative Commies

I recently watched a Youtube video by Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan named “Defend the Border Convoy”. The video takes place in Eagle Pass, Texas. This city in particular because it has become a political pawn for the federal and state government. The tension escalated when Texas Governor Greg Abbott deployed the Texas National Guard to the area, citing the need to secure the border. This move included the installation of physical barriers like razor wire and a floating barrier system in the Rio Grande to deter migrants, which the federal government argued was done without appropriate federal authorization. This led to federal courts ruling that federal agents are allowed to cut down razor wire along the border of Eagle Pass, TX. This conflict led hundreds of conservative/christian nationalists to organize a convoy to come to Eagle Pass and secure the border themselves. While watching these interviews I noticed two words that were iterated by these anti-immigration advocates: “Our” an...

Were people that stupid?

A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court is a satirical novel by Mark Twain. It's an illustration of a feudalistic form of government dating back to the early 6th century, with other elements. The connections that can be drawn from the 6th century, 1889, and today is quite frightening. People think their world has changed from the ruling monarchs, but little do they know, they are being ruled by a select few. The following text includes quotes from Twains text. People are sheep. All people have been told their entire lives that there are a few people that rule over others the rest, them and us. That in order to act, permission must be obtained from a "higher power".  These select few people that can decide the power structures are chosen in specific ways, either thru heredity, election by the majority, or some other absurd method. We call it absurd because we compare our metrics of living to the archaic way of living. The reason why the story is based on time trav...

DON’T ABOLISH SLAVERY!

Image
I will provide the compelling reasons to keep the institution of slavery alive and well, feel free to try to refute the facts in your head: Economic impact: The sudden end of slavery would have a devastating economic impact on the slave owners. The cotton economy would collapse, the tobacco crop would dry up, and rice would no longer be profitable. Without the labor of the slaves, the slave owners are left with no skills and no source of income, and therefore can no longer support themselves, ultimately leading to the deaths of tens of thousands of people and families. Is that what we want? Sure, some people are “suffering,” if you can even call it that, but other people are greatly benefiting from the labor of the slaves, affording to pay the necessary functions to stay alive like their healthcare, housing, food, etc. Abolishing slavery would mean the end for some people; their money will disappear overnight as they can no longer support themselves. Social order: Without slavery, form...

9/11 Explanation

Image
I recently had a discussion with my friend about why the Twin Towers were specifically chosen in the 9/11 attacks. This debate originally started due to my friend being a Twin Tower enthusiast,  exclaiming that their modern design, simplicity, and maximum functionality is what makes them iconic. I, taking the side of the Empire State Building, argued that the WTC was bland, simple, and represented nothing compared to the ESB. As we presented our points, he brought up an argument about how the WTC was specifically chosen in the 9/11 attacks due to its symbolism of economic prosperity, using this point to “prove” that the Twin Towers were symbolic. That is what I have been told my entire life about the 9/11 attacks. Islamic terrorists attacked such a great nation because we possess qualities of freedom. Their envy of American economic, democratic, and military prosperity is what drove them to perform such terrible acts. This idea that there's someone out there that wants to ki...
